There may be other areas you need to or can report to as well as Strong Families Safe Kids Advice and Referral Line.

To find out who else you should contact, ask yourself these four questions:
1. Do you believe or suspect a crime has happened?

If a crime may have occurred but there’s no immediate danger contact:

📞 Police Assistance Line: 131 444
🔍 Crime Stoppers (if you want to be anonymous): 1800 333 000

2. Did it happen online?

Report online child sexual abuse, including child sexual abuse material to the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation using the Report Abuse button.

Report illegal content, including online child sexual exploitation and abuse material, to the eSafety Commissioner.

3. Were you told in your role as a worker/volunteer?

Speak to your manager or leader as you may have specific reporting obligations under law or your organisation’s policies.

These can be internal to the organisations, such as reporting to a child safety officer, and they can be external, such as the Office of the Independent Regulator or the Education and Care Unit (the Tasmanian education and care regulatory authority).

4. Is the concern about the behaviour of a Government worker?

Report your concern directly to the relevant Department:

If you don’t feel comfortable reporting to the Department, you may be able to report to the Office of the Independent Regulator. The Independent Regulator oversees specific organisations in Tasmania.
